We are in the process of putting together a formal marketing strategy to promote the website.
As soon as we have improved our tournament structure, will we start driving a proper marketing campaign.
FWIW, I had to put a hold on the comeback email campaign... our hosting company informed me that our domain ran the risk of being blacklisted as a spam domain due to exceeding our email quotas.
To everyone who is asking others to join/visit our site I humbly suggest having them read the forums before doing anything else. I think it'll give the best first impression. Thoughts?
I wasn't aware of Chess conquest until Ketchup (on another site) asked me to take a look and sign up, so he can be credited (or blamed! for my being here. Follow his example.
There are 3 things required to boost player population… Swiss tournaments instead of knock out tournaments, a mobile app, and live games… we are hoping to work towards these goals.
I find this site very nice and convenient for everyone participating in it, especially for AND ,,,,, MANY congratulations and thanks for the work he has put into existence ... I am very sorry that the administrator from Ukraine VASIL puzanov is no longer here, but I believe he will appear again one fine day.,,,,,,, and to Ketchup,,, your acquaintance who says these insults is a common pederast and better not come back here....
i also find the site nice and convenient ,,,, it's nice to have a tournament for rating up to 1200 and games for 7 days ,,, congratulations to iota who is doing very well despite his other daily duties ,,, health and luck to all in the new year 2024,,,
I suspect the site lose some prospective players because it seems difficult to get started. In my case I registered a couple weeks ago. I posted (I believe) two open invites (though I am unclear how or where anyone finds these, and I can't find any from other players). I checked tournaments, though all currently listed are either completed or in progress). I checked a couple profiles of other players, and do not see how to challenge them. It may well be that someone can react to me now and get me started; that would be appreciated. The point remains however that getting started seems very difficult.
I guess you just have to press the green button above, where it is written +New Game
If you want to join the Tournaments just press the blue button my games. It will show you if you can joint to existing tournaments.
I play chess also at itsyourturn, though that site lacks some of the nice features here. I mention because the waiting room there (analogous to new game+ functionality here) gets one new chess games very rapidly. Seldom a long wait. New game+ here gets very little activity. I believe people will pursue open invites much more readily than challenging strangers. So I recommend more players posting open invites here. Itsyourturn also has an automatch feature. You request matches of a specific duration and color (or random) and other users of automatch that want the same are started in a game with you. I mention these because I believe that they get new members active quickly, and I believe that will encourage more site growth. I'm guessing that chessconquest's attrition rate might be hurt from slow starts.
